Adsense Approval Checklist
Google Adsense is an advertisement program that site owners can make money from by visitors clicking on the ads shown on their sites. Many site owners do struggle to get this approval because of the stiff requirement Google has. I had also gotten rejected many times and I have mastered how to meet their standards. I have Adsense on 2 of my websites at the moment. One of them is www.youlaif.com.
I got my last Adsense approval in less than 24 hours.
In this video, I will share my template and checklist with you. I will show you exactly what I do.

How this Adsense Calculator Works
This Adsense calculator checks several categories that are necessary for a site to get approved.
I will list all of the categories and give a detailed explanation of why they are necessary.
Essential Pages Test
This category checks whether you have:
1. About Us Page
Google expects to work with brands that:
1. have a clear definition of what they do and what their values are
2. are responsible and accountable for all of their actions.
To make this possible an ‘about us’ page is necessary for the brand definition.
The contact us page makes them reachable to account for any content on their site.
The privacy policy shows they respect their visitors and are willing to let them know how they treat their data.
2. Contact Us Page
3. Privacy Policy Page
A privacy policy page is where you declare to your users, all the data you collect from them. As a respectful site owner, you should let your users know if you leave coolies on their devices. The privacy policy page should also contain some data from the Google Advertising policy. You can see an example of the one I used for my site here.
Indexability Test
This section tests if the content on your site is discoverable by Google and known by Google.
Factors that are considered include:
- Integration of Google Search Console on your sight
- Submission of Sitemap
For your site to be approved by Google, there must be some content on it. In some cases, there may be some content on it and Google is not able to crawl the site to index the content.
So the process of knowing your content to be completed, the following processes are carried out:
Crawling:
This is the process where Google bots go through your site content following links that connect to your website and the sitemap you have submitted in Google Search Console.
Indexation:
Once the content is discovered, Google then decides if they are worth being indexed. It will check:
1. if the content is valuable
2. if there is no existing content similar to them in its index already
3. if they are authentic and not spammy.
Once all these conditions are checked and the content is found useful, Google will go ahead to index the content.
At times, being able to get your content indexed fast is also helpful in avoiding errors of plagiarism. This is because, if your content may exist on your site without being indexed by Google. Someone else can copy your content and Google first indexes the content on their site. When the content is later indexed on your site, it will be classified as ‘plagiarised’. This is why owning a GSC and following proper optimization is essential.
Experience with Google Adsense suggests to us that the approval process is largely facilitated by bots. The bots that check the content on your site will visit Google’s Index to discover the content you have, it doesn’t look like a particular official of Google Adsense will visit your site to discover what content you have. The bots do that and what they check is not exactly your site but the content of your site that is indexed in google’s index known as ‘caffeine’.
Another importance of having Google Search Console integrated with your site is that it helps you discover several technical problems and resolve them before Google Adsense begins to reject your approval consistently.
These are some of the technical issues it can resolve.
1. Crawlability
GSC reports content that is discovered but not indexed to you. This helps you know what content Google is not aware of and of course, lets you know what content is indexed. Only the indexed content is going to be used in appraising your Google Adsense qualification.
2. Navigation issues
Websites with faulty navigations like ‘clickable elements too close’, ‘content wider than screen’ etc are usually rejected by Adsense. This is because Google wants to serve ads on websites with clean layouts, that are easily navigatable and have a user interface that makes it easy for users to click on Ads.
After all, Google wants as many clicks as possible on the Ads they display on your site, that is how they make money and that is how you also make money.
Note that schema errors or warnings do not have anything to do with indexing so they do not affect your site getting approved for Google Adsense or not.
Ad Space Availability
This section tests if the content on your site has sufficient spaces for Google Ads to be displayed. What is the estimated total number of words you have on your website? To know the number of words you have on your WordPress site, you can use this plugin –WP Word Count.
The Google Adsense Program exists so that companies can advertise their brands, products and services.
Google in partnership with the selected websites aims to display Ads in-between content that gets a lot of viewership, especially from organic sources.
So if there is no content among which the ads will display, the essence of the program is defeated. In fact, such an Adsense account with a website with no content becomes useless to both Google and the owner.
The more content you have the more ads can be displayed on your site. Note that ‘content’ in this context is mainly in the text format. Video content is useful for Youtube Adsense but for getting Adsense approval on your website, you need sufficient text content.
The more content you have, the happier Google is with you and of course, the content should not be plagiarized.
Without Google’s check, let’s logically look at the situation. It only makes sense that a blog post of just 350 words cannot have more than 1 ad banner displayed in between it. If more than one appears, it becomes annoying to the reader and no click will ever be done. On the contrary, when you have a post of 7, 000 words there is more opportunity for ads without interrupting the readers’ attention.
User Friendliness
This session tests the theme your website uses to see if it is a user-friendly one and it is devoid of technical errors.
Since the Adsense program relies on users clicking on Ads, then the site displaying the ads has to be good enough for the users to interact with its content.
Some themes have been proven to be free from technical errors or prone to fewer errors. You should read the reviews of a theme before installing it. This is not cast in stone, a theme with no review can be perfect in terms of user-friendliness. In fact, some of the new themes are designed with speed in focus and are quite user-friendly.
If you don’t use WordPress, use Google Pagespeed Insight to test the speed and user-friendliness of your theme. You should consider factors like Cumulative Layout Shift and First Contentful Paint.
Google Publisher Policies
In this session, I would like to establish that your website does not contain any content that violates Google’s Policy for content publishing.
The full guide to the Google Publisher Policies can be read here.
